Q- How can I make a wholesale purchase or become a distributor?
A- Please email us at contact@glassclay.com

Q- Can GlasClay be fired in a microwave kiln?
A- Several artists have reported trying to fire GlasClay in a microwave kiln. So far no one has reported any successful techniques.

Q- Can a "Chili Pepper Annealer" be used to fire GlasClay?
A- No, it requires a kiln with a digital controller that can be programmed for a series of "ramps" and goes to a temperature of at least 1250 F., preferrably to 1450F.

Q-How can I order if my shipping address is not in the USA?
A- Email your order to us. We will calculate the shipping and send an invoice back to you with several payment options.

Q- Is there a book with detailed instructions and projects available?
A- YES! Just released. Geneva Perkins, an expert in the field, has just released the first publication. It is called : GlasClay! The Book.  and is available now. Ask at your local glass supply or click on the Purchase Here button at the right side of this website!

Q- When is Translucent GlasClay going to be released?
A- It is now available on this website. If your local dealer does not carry it, ask them to email us for contact with a distributor.

Q- Does Non-Structural Translucent & Opal GlasClay work the same as Structural Opaque GlasClay?
A- The answer is "similarly".... but not the same.  Translucent & Opal  GlasClay fires at a much higher temperature and cannot be used for hollow, 3 dimensional work, as Opaque GlasClay is used. It does come in powder form for you to mix when you are ready to use it.  Translucent & Opal GlasClay allows you to make extremely intricate works of jewelry or flat glass, without cutting or soldering. The opal colors serve to add distinction and body to flat work, especially when there is no soldering..  You can mix a variety of colors, and make each piece of your design, fit them together and dry. Of course there is a bit more to it than that, but that is a very broad description.  Once a piece of Translucent & Opal  Glasclay has been fired, you may create embellishments out of Opaque GlasClay and tack fuse them at only 1225F, to the Translucent & Opal  GlasClay , thus creating a multi-textured work.

Q- Can GlasClay be used with a lampwork torch?
A- Several artists are experimenting at this time. There is no tested method for publication now. We hope to have more info in the near future.

Q- Can GLasClay be used with a traditional kiln, ie, no digital controller?
A- With careful use of cones designed for target temperatures, and some diligent experimentation, it is feasable, however we do not recommend that method of firing for the best possible effect.

Q- Why do opals reach maturity at a different temperature than opaques?
A- The chemical composition of the glass causes this effect. Please read the additional information about use of GlasClay, located at the bottom of the home page.
